The DEC Alphas are gonna top 1000 MHz quite soon, I believe. Perhaps if you
could afford to spend $2000 dollars on this project it would be feasible.
Or maybe if you had 10 Alphas, running, in parallel, you could achieve a 1
ns instruction rate, at astronomical costs, of course.
