Martin,

I think that he is referring to the ability to erase individual bytes.
All of the FLASH memory devices that I have seen besides the 16F84/83,
have only allowed block erase or entire chip erase. I am still only using
the 16c84, but AFAIK, the 16F84 allows single byte erase/re-write.
