Note: Sorry if you have already received this msg - it bounced back to me, not sure whether it made it passed my ISP... I am attempting to program a 12c508, using O Nogueira's ProPic 4.2 S/W and Dontronic's DT001 (rev a) H/W with a 18 pin to 8 pin adaptor in the ZIF socket. I am using Scott Riders pre-assembled hex file called m508v544.hex, this file and the asm code (md508v54.asm) can be obtained from: http://aeug.org/~chip/src/modv54.zip, (by the way this is the mod chip code for the sony playstation) The 2 problems i have encountered are: 1. When writing the code to the 12c508, ProPic s/w reports the following msg "Pic not erased, continue", i click yes to continue. 2. It then reports the following error "Writing error in mem 0" then stops. My understanding is that the 12c508 is a OTP device, so not sure as to why i'm getting the 'Pic not erased' error and as to the 'mem 0' error, i just don't know enough. Do these errors point to any particular problem??? I have tried 3 different 12c508's with the same results incase it was a dud pic. I have successfully programmed 16x84's without any problems using the same s/w and h/w. My experience is only MEL PicBasic and 16x84's as a hobby. Yours hoping for answers, Andrew McDonald
