I recently got hold of an older PICStart 16B, however the firmware and the
driver software do not match.    :^(

Also, it doesn't do some of the newer chips.   :^(

Thus, I D/L'd the Phoenix firmware upgrade (thank you Jim) from DonTronics
(thank you Don).  Yes, I got the driver software too.  Now my problem is how
to get it into a 17C4X.

I have exhausted my other avenues, so I will turn to the PICLIST.  Is there
any kind soul out there (perhaps in the Western US) that has the capability
of programming a 17C42, and would be willing to burn me one?

I could send you the 17C42 chip, a SASE, and perhaps some small renumeration.
