He all y'all,

I recently updated to MPLAB 3.40 on Windows 95 platform.  When I try to
assemble the "sample" project according to the directions in the
tutorial, the MPASM executable does not get called; the dos window does
not appear.  Hence the assembly times out andthe error message
"application timed out.  Continue waiting?" message appears.  I have
verified that MPASM is in the same place as specified by the command
line.

If I try to invoke the assembler using theTools:DOS command to window
menu item, the assembler is properly called and runs correctly.

Any suggestions?
