Catchy I agonised about buying a second-hand 'scope, or getting one of the PC-based ones. I plumped for a PICO ADC200-100. I'm glad I did. 100 million samples per second gives you 20Mhz with one channel (10Mhz with 2), which is plenty for my needs. I get all the facilities of a DSO, and a 17" Trinitron screen to look at it on. Beware of PC-based 'scopes that quote Mhz without Msps to back it up. 50Msps might give you 25Mhz for spectrum analysis (Nyquist and all that) but a with only 2 points per cycle, it would be hard to distinguish a sine wave from a square wave. All of the above, of course, in my humble opinion. Regards John M john.midgley@enorfolk-ha.anglox.nhs.uk (I'd send this to you directly, but I can't see e-mail addresses from the piclist)
