I hold the jack in a way that only the outer row pins touch their holes. Then I push the jack to the side. The inserted pins (1st row) bend, until the second row fits, too. Firmly inserted, the jack sits just fine (for prototypes) and is ready to solder. Just use your imagination. I sometimes use SMT on breadboard, too.
