I would appreciate a bit of help with
the following:

I am trying to use a Phillips PCF 8593 which is
a clock calendar circuit with i2c-interface.

I can write and read registers in the circuit, this
works and is confirmed by writes and read backs to check.
The oscillator seems to work as the 1 Hz test signal
output is working.
The control/status register is loaded with 00.
Re-set has been tried before or after writing the
control/status register and both too.

I cannot find any time readings - all shows 00
- does anybody know if the circuit has to be
activated in some way?
