Bzzzzt! Just when you thought it was safe to be almost certain...
The 12C671 and 12C672 are in fact 14 bit PIC16xx cores. I cannot
fathom Microchip's naming conventions, about the only connection
I can see between the 12C508 and the 12C671 is that they are both
8 pin devices.
