I just assumed that who handles UV lamps _does_ know what is doing and that direct eye exposure could cause harm. Anyway, it is not so difficult shielding it -use a screen like those used in banks for validating notes, or something similar; maybe a switch and a closed box can do the job. Apologies, Andres j.
