I am trying to work out how the gurus run their development systems. We have just bought the CCS PCM C compiler (no windows IDE) and the TransData RICE17A Emulator. I'm trying to work out the best way to run this. Question 1: I have set up the emulator in config>options>compiler to run the PCM with the -C option so that it comes back to the emulator environment. Half the time the pcm gets locked up and I get a timeout error message in the RICE17 emulator. I cannot work out why it works properly sometimes and not others. Anyone got any ideas? Question 2: In the disassembled code/source code window why doesn't the highlighted line in the assembler change to the code corresponding to the source code line you click. That is, why do the two windows only synchronise after a run/break etc? Question 3: Do people use the editor in the Emulator or do they use their prefered editor and run the compiler using hot keys or something and then load the code in the Emulator? Question 4. Any other good tips? Thanks Paul Gaastra pgaastra@hort.cri.nz Technology Development Group, Hort Research Private Bag 3123 fax +64 7 8584705 Hamilton, NEW ZEALAND phone +64 7 8584745
