I have been playing around with the Texas Instruments TLC2543 for a few
days, and have some problems.

I am not talking to it SPI, doing it all in software.

I have a 4.096 v reference and have a pot connected to input 1. My problem
is that with increasing the voltage on the input some values will 'jump'.
eg tonight I get 988 - 1020 with mV increase at input.  Trouble is, on the
CRO I see exactly the same - comparing clock to output data stream It does
indeed seem to 'jump' over several values.

I'm using 16 bit mode, 16C74 and CCS.

Has anyone had any experience with the part ? I must be missing something !
