How about this: Take an old broken microwave (preferably a small one), remove the magnetron, capacitor, and all that other dangerous stuff and replace it with a flourescent lamp power supply controlled from the timer. Use a nice, powerful germicidal bulb and attach it in the oven cavity such that you can move it up and down, use some sort or reflector as well. Cover up (really well) all of the possible exits for light and you have a UV device that has a timer and not only erases windowed devices but can be used to make PCB's as well. Neat?
