Among many other people, I have designed and built my own PIC production
programmer.

Hopefully mine is a little different.  It is a serial port based programmer,
which could be used from a terminal program, or driven from a host computer.
The code for the host computer is written in Perl, in the hopes of some
operating system independence.  One of my goals was to work under Windows 95,
but due to a bug in the port of Perl I am using, at the moment it will only
work under Windows NT.  Linux testing is also underway.
