OK at least we understand where you are 'coming from', for want of a better phrase *8-) I have played with MicrChip MPLAB-C offering about 18 months ago, which I know is a long time and I hope they would ave improved it no end by now .... have they? As you are eluding to, the generated code was terrible and the amount of 'C-likeness' was unforgivable. I've been doing ES for ten years. But when can't rely on the language, even as provided, the compiler has to go. The ones I like the least are the ones that LOOK like C, but all they are is some college kid's version of something to twiddle the peripherals. Look at the documentation carefully... there is a difference between C and C-like. When somebody markets a compiler, the least they could do is debug it. KK
