(Shields up) Why? Because it's the only one that you have a simple load and go hardware switch built in. This uses a 4PDT switch and gives true isolation, not cmos switches that may lead to other problems, to say nothing of the additional circuitry involved. This basic design has been around since Feb-95. This allows you to program the 84 in the target board in a few seconds and run it without ever moving the 84 micro. It is also set up on a simmstick platform, but you can just use the schematic and build your own if you like. The software drivers are free, and come in DOS, W95, and NT. They support both the C84 and the F84. Printed circuit boards are available if you choose to build it up this way.
