Our organisation has used Philips 8XC552 processors in the past.  We
have a few projects which require small pin count low power
microcomputers.  Namely an RS485 networkable Stepper powered syringe
driver and also some animal ear tag stuff.  My boss expressed some
concern about going to PICs.

Are there any better alternatives? .....Or if this is wasting time,
which month was this all thrashed out?..... Or what's a good web page
to look at?  Maybe I shouldn't have asked this here
