Hi John, I used the Lynx 433MHz modules and made up some 1/4 wave whip antennas. They worked great!.....I achieved a range of 700 to 800 meters (almost 1/2 mile). Voltage on the transmitter module plays a role in the range obtainable (6-9V). At 6V, range was about 500 meters, 9V got me the 700-800 meters. Also, the test conditions were not ideal as there were many trees and some buildings between the TX and RX. The eval kits come with 2 TXs and 2RXs. Did you try swapping the TXs and RXs. I had one bad RX....sent it back and they replaced it no charge. -Randie rohtsji@glenayre.com > From leonard@TARDIS.SVSU.EDU Thu Mar 26 07:03:10 1998 > > I'm playing with the Lynx Tech. 418MHz eval. kit and a 433MHz pair from > Abacom Tech. and have had serious difficulty achieving anywhere near the > ranges claimed by either.
