Since many UV tubes have a counterpart fluorescent tube that doesn't cook one's eyeballs, it is a good idea to get one of those along with your UV tube when building an Eprom eraser. You can use the fluorescent tube while testing to make sure the starter and timer are working right and to be sure the case is light tight. The extra expense is nothing compared to what could happen if there is a light leak. Al Williams writes: >best way to do this is to go in a dark room and turn it on.
