> Did y'all notice that motorola recently announced "the first" OTP > microcontroller to sell for less than $0.50 This is a load of BS. The lowly PIC54, in die form, in "real" qualtities, is cheaper than $0.50 . I suspected that motorola picked their definition of "large quantities" very carefully :-) Do you really consider a die to still be OTP? It's extremely clear that microchip's 12c508 focusses more effort on reducing system cost - it's the only chip I know of with an on-chip calibrated clock. What other micros are priced under a Buck US$ in quantities? I Digikey's lowest price was on one of the Z8 familly, I think. Surely there is some asian foundry still hammering out 4 bitters for a few pennies each? Not OTP... BillW
