I have been using an electroluminescent (EL) Optrex display on a project.
Every once in a while the power supply regulator (LM7805) will heat up and
strangle the circuit.  I noticed that when I disconnect the +5V from the EL
inverter, this overload does not occur.  Is anyone familiar with the
inverters or offer any suggestions?
