If you want a lot of example code, try the "Microchip Embedded Control
Handbook, Vol 1".  You can also get the PIC16/17 Microcontroller data book,
which has the chip specs for all the chips, and includes an appendix with
the
full instruction set for each chip.

These two books are Digikey part numbers DS00092D-ND and 930B-ND,
and the two of them put together will cost you $17 + shipping.
