John, My "to-do list" also involves the STV5730. The project is a serial OSD which I can use to create a menu system for my home automation setup. I also intend on using the PIC16C84. Many months ago, I managed to get some samples from Braemac (after plenty of whinging!). I have the details at home re: costs and MOQ etc. I can recall numbers something like MOQ=112 @ $4.50 each.... but I'll check to be sure and let you know tomorrow. I would like to add a OSD of time and date to the recorded image. Not knowing anything about video signals I looked into OSD Ic's. I found a SGS-Thompson STV-5730 IC that looks good, but cannot find anyone to supply it locally. Does anyone know where I can buy this in small retail? Alternative suggestions welcome. Thanks John
