True, but the reason I want to use the AAA batteries are:

1. The ampere hour capacity of the AAA's are quite good.
2. Battery compartment of my enclosure are specifically designed for AAA's.
3. You get AAA as rechargeable Nicads. Not so for button cells.
4. AAA's are probably cheaper than any of the other options

I believe that if it is possible to effectively do a 2V to 5V
conversion without too much losses or noise, then the dc to dc
conversion method is probably the best bet in my case.
