I was just using mine a few minutes ago. Last I knew,
you could still buy the wire for it....but it's been
quite a while since I did, since I only use it for
small prototyping projects.

I just grabbed a spool of wire that was laying on the
bench....and it seems to work about the same as the
stuff that Vector sold.

P/N 32 PE 40Z....looks like 32 gauge enameled magnet
wire, nothing special. I think the stuff Vector sold
had a urethane insulation, but this seems to boil off
the same way at about 700 degrees. Good luck!
