I was just using mine a few minutes ago. Last I knew, you could still buy the wire for it....but it's been quite a while since I did, since I only use it for small prototyping projects. I just grabbed a spool of wire that was laying on the bench....and it seems to work about the same as the stuff that Vector sold. Consolidated Electronic Wire and Cable 11044 King Street Franklin Park, IL 60131 P/N 32 PE 40Z....looks like 32 gauge enameled magnet wire, nothing special.
