Gen Rad made Xenon strobes for high speed photography (where things such as spectral output would be important), motion analysis, and tachometer applications (Strobotac). The Experimenter was Gen Rad's version of something like HP Journal. Gen Rad is now out of the instrument business. If I still had my copies I would send the relevant pages to you, but a massive flood we had in my area last March took away a lot of collected treasures I had like that (and a lot of electronics stuff too!). Perhaps a better idea would be to look up papers and books on the subject by Harold Edgerton (spelling?), who pioneered the use of strobes in high speed photography.
