There are 2 serial programs that worked for me
(16C84 and Hyper Terminal) at:

and in the second program it will output whatever value is in the
W register, when called, to the assigned pin at 2400 Baud.

Don't forget to hook up the serial SG (signal ground) wire
like my fathers son did (Doh!)
