I posted this to the Microchip e-mail help line and I thought I would post it here as well. Any guess as to who will answer first: the PICLIST folks or the Microchip folks? --------- I have a nice new Dell Dimension system that I use as my development platform. My software version numbers are as follows: Windows 95 MPLAB/16 version 3.30.00 PICSTART PLUS version 1.40.00 PICSTART firmware version 1.20.00 PICMASTER version 3.30 PROCESSOR version 3.3 DISASSEMBLER version 2.00 Whenever I try to burn a windowed PIC14000 part, the PICSTART seems to program the "program memory" "configuration bits" and "ID locations" just fine. However, when it trys to program the "Calibration Data" (which I painstakingly retype each time I program a windowed part), I get the following error: "Please verify serial and power connections & reset programmer (0020,01,00,71)" I have thoroughly read the release notes for PICSTART Plus Version 1.40.00 and have made all of the suggested changes to my COM1 port settings, including disabling the "Use FIFO buffers" option. All of this to no avail. The PICSTART simply will not allow me to program the Calibration Data on my PIC14000 parts. If I move the PICSTART to an older Win95 system with the following software versions, it works just fine. This is not an acceptable situation, however, as the other Win95 system belongs to someone else (who is really starting to hate seeing me!) Windows 95 MPLAB/16 version 3.22.02 PICSTART PLUS version 1.30.00 PICSTART firmware version 1.20.00 PICMASTER version 3.20.01 I have spent more than a month trying to resolve this problem and would appreciate any help that anyone out there could provide. -- ------------------------------------------------------ /\ Frank Dalton (fdalton@pineinst.com) //\\ Pine Instrument Company ///\\\ 101 Industrial Drive ////\\\\ Grove City, PA 16127 || (412) 458-6391 || www.pineinst.com ------------------------------------------------------
