I still have the somewhere the modem based on Am7910 chip. I built this modem approx. 10 years ago for my old Sinclair ZX-Spectrum. There is one problem with this chip. It is only the modem part, not the control logic. So, if you want things like dialing, baud selection, Hayes compatibility etc., you need to make your own logic around the chip. For the complete solution, the Cermetek PCB modem seems as a better solution.
