If you're really interested in IDE (ATA, ATA-2, ATA-3, ATA4, ATAPI) go to ftp.fission.wdc.com/pub/standards This is the home for the X3T Technical group which is in charge of the standards. The formal standard has to be bought from ANSI and is around $85.00, however the X3T people archive their working copies of their latest standards. If you want a quick and dirty method to find the output of the standard IDE connector download the reference designs for the 80386EX designs from Intel's embedded development site, and download the datasheet on the Radisys R-380 chip from Radisys. These three items will give you a schematic, pin-description, and header pin-out of the IDE port. Lest you're wondering I'm currently working on a project which needs to embed and EIDE controller onto an ELAN SC310 microcontroller board, and as such had to figure this out. -----Original Message----- From: sajjad.akhtar To: PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU Date: Thursday, November 06, 1997 4:37 AM Subject: Re[2]: IDE HardDisk and PIC > I am interested too .... especially in pc data equsition card design. > ISA and PCI bus based > > >______________________________ Reply Separator _________________________________ >Subject: Re: IDE HardDisk and PIC >Author: pic microcontroller discussion list at smtpgwy >Date: 11/6/97 3:05 PM > > >Octavio, >somewhere in the net you can found the IDE control lines, commands, ti= >ming and >specification. > LMK, I am interested too. >TIA & ciao. > > Claudio Rachiele IW0DZG >= >
