Hi, Apologies if this is a duplicate, but I still cannot see my original posted about 10 hrs ago. Been lurking and lurnin for a while now, this is a great place to pick up tips and tricks. I have been busy with a data logging project using an 'F84 and MC145051. A DS1820 and an reflective optical pickup are also involved. My problem came with data format in storing readings on a DS1996 (8Kx8 1-wire RAM). Storing stuff there is simple, but creating a download protocol to send the stuff to a PC for graphing and analysis takes up too much PIC space. I found the TMEX S/W on the DALLAS site and it seems to be a great solution. Using a simple wand I can read and write to the RAM like a disk. I would like to store my logged data there, however there is little or no support documentation to specify the format for an external controller to create or append to data to the device. Has anyone seen or used this format with a PIC, or has a data sheet with more info for me ?? TIA Rgds Brian
