> The Z8 family doesn't have UV parts, Just FYI. This is a common misconception. Zilog does have a limited number of UV parts available. (I have some of the Z86E40 parts in a windowed package.) These parts are simply windowed versions of their OTPs. They take a long time to erase, and have a limited number of reprogram cycles. (Probably 20 or so.) However with Zilog, the main attraction is the giveaway price of the ICEBOX. You can buy these things all day long for $99. Twist your FAE's arm and they will give you one for free! These ICEBOXES are not only incircuit emulators, they will also program the chips. There are no additional PODS to buy. The CCP ICEBOX will emulate all their standard microcontrollers from 18 to 40 pins. Sure Zilog parts have their quirks just like everyone else, however they do fit very well into certain applications. ----- Steve
