There are enough similarities that some code will run. View it as the relationship between a 8080 and Z80. Some of the 5X code will run on the SX and very little of the SX code will run on the 5X. I agree with Tom Rogers and others on the list that there is very little overlap between Scenix and Microchip parts in terms of applications. My reaction the first time I saw the specifications for the part was surprise at the simple solution that Scenix had found to two problems that chip companies in general have had. They have had to support many different parts to cover a wide range of applications and they have had to manufacture, characterize and inventory many different parts. I had a wow factor over the 50-100MIPS because that opened new application area's. Existing designs using Microchip 5X parts are very unlikely to start using Scenix. Walter Banks
