>>>Ok, just out of curiosity, what have been people favorite giveaway at trade >>>shows? Preferrably something memorable that makes you remember the company >>>and the product as well. I like a clever T-shirt (I *live* in t-shirts!), T-shirts have become rather ordinary after the first 10 or so, though I do like my Digital "alligator" shirt. > > Well, I got a great diamond-studded fish-hook and knife sharpener that's >about the size of a small pen with a clip. Oh, electronic trade shows! Well.. >I've got `eleventy billion' screwdrivers with that damn little magnet attached I got a set of screwdrivers from Arrow-Schweber once. Nice little set and I use it whenever I'm out and need to take apart something. >at the other end... I've got enough baseball caps to start another league... >If anyone sees me wearing a pocket protector, shoot me! Plenty of coffee mugs. >Enough posters to save the Oregon forests from clear cutting... What I'd like To say nothing of the content-free press releases and glossies that weigh down your bags. :( >to see is someone like Tektronix giving away DSO's, Mentor giving away software, >HP giving away calculators, and if anyone remembers NewTek's Amiga-based video >Toaster..., giving away Kiki ;-) I went to an optical-related show and was mildly disappointed that no one was handing out laser pointers. :) I half expected to see crazy booth people "demonstrating" lasers ("Oh, look at that guy all the way across the floor, watch me light his tie on fire"). At the technology-transfer show next door to the optics show, this really floored me: The National Security Agency was there, handing out frisbees! Even more surprised they didn't come with subpoenas inside! :) > > Seriously, I prefer discounts on developer packages, samples, documentation, >etc, from folks like Motorola, Intel, National, Microchip, etc. CD's, the ones that *don't* just have a marketing movie on them but real content. Books. I got a book from Keithley on making low-level measurements, and another from Xyplex ("The Switching Handbook"), a very nice little reference on networking.
