There was a project in Circuit Cellar Ink this month using a '84 to
 convert scancodes from an AT keyboard into ASCII.  Its a simple project
 for a PIC.

I've also completed a project using a 6507 and 6532 to do something similar,
 since the '84 lacks the memory for all the lookups I needed.  If your
 interested in the source let me know.
