Some folks say Zinc is good.  The catch is that you're
supposed to take it as soon as you think you are
coming down with the cold.

You can get zinc lozenges here in the US (forgot the
name).  BTW the guy who developed them got busted
for buying up stock in the company when the
clinical trials were announced -- insider trading and
all that.
