I got a few of their modules and tried them out with some Motorola Encoder/Decoder chips (MC145026/MC145027) to transfer 4bits of data. The next step I'm going to take is using them as an RF link with PIC chips.....sorry haven't done that yet. The modules work pretty good and give good range. Linx states that the modules are good for 500-800 ft at 5Khz, but I maxed out at about 700-800 meters (2100-2400ft) at 2Khz data transmission. These were bursts of small data and coverage was in an open field. Larger chunks may not do so well. I'm planning on duplicating this with PIC chips (PIC16F84s). Any other PICsters out there using these modules??? -Randie > From billw@CISCO.COM Mon Sep 29 10:19:21 1997 > Date: Mon, 29 Sep 1997 10:17:27 PDT > From: William Chops Westfield > Subject: Re: RF link > To: PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU > > Has anyone used the RF links from "linx" ? > > BillW >
