There is a left-right scroll feature built into most LCD modules.  You might
take a look at the datasheet on our one-wire EDE700 serial to 14-pin Hitachi
controller IC - it gives an overview of all the LCD features like custom
character generation, etc., that are useful with or without our chip.  We're
