I want to be able to run my PIC16c71 at 3.3V, but be able to have VREF set
to 5V so that I can sense 0 to 5V on the analog input pins with the A/D
converter.

Is this possible?  The specs seem to indicate that pins must have a level
from
-0.3V to VDD+0.3V with respect to VSS.  That would seem to indicate it
isn't possible.  I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who has tried it.
