Either wordpad or notepad will produce the plain ASCII source that MPASM needs, but if you are using Win95, why not use MPLAB, which has a "smart" editor built in? If you must use an external editor (Multi-Edit is the one I use) and you want something free, try PFE (Programmer's File Editor), which a lot of programmer's swear by. CIAO - Martin R.
