I've previously tried to get Microchip to provide me with technical specs for their bond-out chips (under non-disclosure), so that I could develop a low-cost PIC emulator. They apparently didn't take me seriously, perhaps because my company is not currently in the ICE business. (If that is the reason, it's a nice catch-22 situation.) I asked Scenix whether they were making technical information about the SX available under non-disclosure in order to spur the development of more software and hardware tools for the SX, but they said that they were only supporting tool development by Parallax. :-( Let's hope that the data sheets for the SX actually contain all of the technical information necessary to develop third-party tools. Remember that Microchip didn't include programming specs in their early data sheets, and it was darned difficult to get them. The PIC didn't really take off until that kind of information was widely available, and there were lots of development tools. Since one of the highly-touted features of the Scenix SX is the on-board debugging/emulation support, it would be a shame if they didn't document it and no other vendors offered tools. Or if they only made the doumentation available to "big" companies. Eric
