I have just checked and it has 2 KS0061 ic's and 1 SED1278F on it. There
are 16 connection pins to module.

     If it has a Samsung KS0066 chip on the module, it is a HD44780
     compatible module, just search for info on character LCDs, or
     see the (pathetic 2) links on one of my pages, as a starting point:-
