     If it has a Samsung KS0066 chip on the module, it is a HD44780
     compatible module, just search for info on character LCDs, or
     see the (pathetic 2) links on one of my pages, as a starting point:-

I have just purchased a samsung lcd 2 line 20 character display (It was 
cheap from a company that deals with bankrupt stock etc).
     
On the PCB it is marked as SMC - 2024A.
     
Does anybody have a datasheet for it or know how to use it?
