I recieved my parts from Digi-Key  and built the Classic Programmer from
David Tait.

After trying to program my first PIC using the software that was included in
David's files,  I need some help. :-)

When I try to program the chip it comes up with these messages.


When tring to load the walking led program included with programmer.
Programming ......
pp:0000: read 3FFF ,  wanted 3000
pp:Verify failed during programming

When trying to load a program out of the Easy Pic'n book that shifts bit
patterns.
Programming .......
pp:0000: read 3FFF  ,  wanted 0186
pp:Verify failed during programming


When I try to Dump contents it says:

pp: Pic is erased - nothing to dump.


Any Ideas ?????
