First, there is a distinct difference between mutagenesis and carcinogenesis (which your "four years of post-graduate studies in Nuclear Physics" should have elucidated). Second, the relationship between exposure to ionising radiation due to altitude and the incidence of various types of cancer and birth defects is well documented. The most extreme example being, of course, people who work on aeroplanes in flight. ___Bob
