Well I've been following the latest days development in the mentioned threads and I actually enjoy it. Maybe I'm a bit strange, but what's the big deal... I think that the off-topic-threads bring the PIC-community closer, beacuse engineers are (from what atleast i have seen) much the same all around the world; boys in spirit. The boring, academic type of engineer might want to turn to another forum for discussion...
