You can leave the Subject blank if your reader will let you, and yes, you can put multiple commands in the body. Some can even be stacked, if they start with the same command. For instance: SET PICLIST command1 SET PICLIST command2 SET PICLIST command3 ...can be combined into: SET PICLIST command1 command2 command3 This is pretty standard LISTSERV stuff. CIAO - Martin R. For a start, it does NOT even explain whether commands are to be in the Subject line or in the message body. This is, curiously enough, important! If in the body, then what IS supposed to be in the Subject line as Netscape for one demands a subject line in order to send? If commands are to go in the body, then can one send more than one command in a message? To get around this, I have in the past simply put the command in BOTH! I find this all rather counter-intuitive as I would expect the command to go in the Subject line. That said, the welcome message should contain a tabular list of ALL commands and options. It is obviously written for (or by) a guru who knows it all already. It should give a direct link to the FAQ or MAN of the listserver IMHO. Cheers, Paul B. VK2BZC
