I am letting a friend of mine borrow my PICSTART 16B-1 programmer and he is having some problems with it programming the 16F84. Specifically it doesn't verify the configuration fuses correctly. (Which makes sense because he has to tell it it is a 16C84) Even worse, it loses communication (this is using the old Microchip DOS app). He can't get the Windows IDE to detect it. I know there is a new EPROM for that programmer, but does anyone know another way to get it to work. (Preferably with the Windows IDE, but any other way is fine as well.) Thanks in Advance, Alan G.
