I'm working on a frequency counter project that needs an 8-digit numeric
display.  I have a few 17 year old TIL393-8 units from a surplus source.
These are the type that was used in early calculators.  It is a small
board having a LED chip for each digit and a lens assembly that makes the
digits look about 5 mm tall, even though they are actually much smaller.
I can't find anything similar in catalogs.  Are they still made?
