I've been playing with a Teac stepper removed from an old 5.25 inch drive, it has six wires, 2 brown, yellow, red, blue, and white. The P/N on the motor is 14769070-10. All I did was feed the 2 brown wires from a positive supply and connect the other 4 to a ULN2803 (using one of Don's relay boards). I just wrote the PIC code to use the wires in the order on the connector - as above, yellow, red, blue, and white. It worked first time :-).
